April 11: Library hosts used book sale, celebrates Shakespeare's birthday

Friday, April 11, 2014

FREDERICK, Md.—The 13th annual used book sale will take place at Hood College Wednesday, April 23 to mark the 450th birthday of William Shakespeare.

The sale will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the lobby of Hood’s Beneficial-Hodson Library and Information Technology Center. Cake will be served for as long as it lasts.

Books from a wide range of subject areas will be available, including a large number of children’s books. Prices are $1 for most hardcover books and 50 cents for most paperbacks.

The event raises funds for the college’s library and also provides an opportunity for members of the community to donate their used books.

Books can be donated during regular library hours: Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from 1:30 to 9:30 p.m.

For more information about the event, contact Jan Samet O’Leary, director of the library at Hood, by phone at 301-696-3934 or by email at jsamet@hood.edu.
