April 3: Student organizations sponsor walk to benefit autism

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

FREDERICK, Md.—A walk to benefit those who suffer from autism will be held April 13 from 8:30 to 11 a.m.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in Hood College's Whitaker Campus Center; the one-mile walk will leave at 9 a.m. from the pergola in the residential quadrangle. The cost is $10 per person or $20 with a T-shirt. There will be games for children, music and raffles in the campus center at the conclusion of the walk.

Proceeds from the walk will support Autism Speaks, the world's leading autism science and advocacy organization dedicated to funding research, increasing awareness and advocating for the individuals affected by autism and their families.

The Hood College Service Organization and the psychology club are sponsoring the event.
