FREDERICK, Md.—Six business professionals, including four alumni, have been elected to the Hood College Board of Associates.

The new members are Deborah A. Bonanni of Chevy Chase, Md., senior adviser at Intelligent Decisions and a 1978 Hood graduate; Betsy Bond Brennen of Owings Mills, Md., chief executive officer and managing partner at Harbor Investment Advisory, LLC, and a 1985 Hood graduate; Jean Joyce of Frederick, financial adviser, Morgan Stanley; Susan Bond Kearney of Owings Mills, Md., head of institutional initiatives, St. Paul’s School for Boys and a 1985 Hood graduate; Ed Prensky of Middletown, Md., chief financial officer of The Plamondon Companies who earned a master of business administration degree from Hood in 2012; and Brad Wolf of York Springs, Pa., president, Wolf’s Bus Line.

The board of associates, organized in 1954, meets twice a year and serves in an advisory capacity to the president and to the Hood College Board of Trustees, the governing body of the college. Alumni, parents and friends of Hood from throughout the region comprise the board of associates, whose members support the college financially and share their time, talent and experience to benefit Hood, its students, and the greater Frederick community.

Associates support a wide range of fund-raising programs at Hood. Since 1986, members have contributed more than $5 million to Hood in support of student scholarships, academics and athletics. They have also raised funds to support professional development grants for faculty and staff, awarding more than $655,000 through the McCardell Professional Development Grants program that was established by the board in 1980. The board also raised more than $120,000 to establish an endowed fund for student scholarships and has recently established a new scholarship focusing on leadership skills.
