FREDERICK, Md.—A pottery artist who specializes in wood-fired ceramics will give a lecture April 8 at Hood College.
Coll Minogue will discuss the careers and work of five case studies who worked in the United Kingdom, Australia, United States, Canada and France from 1923 to 2013 in her lecture “Women Woodfire Studio Potters and Ceramic Artists—the Pioneers in the 20th Century.” The event will be in the Hodson Science and Technology Center, Room 143 at 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
Minogue has been a professional potter since 1982. She has taught pottery, written three books and published articles in ceramics journals. Her first book, “Impressed and Incised Ceramics,” was published in 1996, and the second edition was published in 2002. Her third book, “Slab-built Ceramics,” was published in 2008.
