Oct. 12-16: Civic Engagement Awareness Week

FREDERICK, Md.—Community service and civic engagement will be celebrated Oct. 12-16 at Hood College, the week leading up to the inauguration of the College’s 11th president.

In honor of President Andrea E. Chapdelaine’s leadership and background in social psychology, Hood’s Civic Engagement Awareness Week is dedicated to giving back to the community and celebrating the differences among people. The week’s 11 service opportunities are all full with more than 100 students, faculty and staff participants, including Chapdelaine.

Members of the Hood community have logged more than 160 hours of community service so far this fall. There will be a banner on display in Whitaker Campus Center for the Hood community to sign to pledge to be a difference maker through civic engagement.
