FREDERICK, Md.—Two music groups and individual performers from the department of music at Hood College will present a concert Oct. 18 in celebration of the inauguration of the College’s 11th president.
The Hood choir and string ensemble will perform along with three individual students and eight faculty members at 3 p.m. in Brodbeck Music Hall to celebrate President Andrea E. Chapdelaine. The musicians will perform works in a wide range of styles.
The choir is directed by Lynn Staininger, and the string ensemble is directed by RoseAnn Markow Lester. The individual student performers, all performance majors form the Class of 2016, include guitarist Sandow Sinai, pianist Joe Colliver and violinist Jared Bileski. The faculty artists are sopranos Jan Aaland, Lisa Dodson and Marie Lester Loy; Barbara Spicher, flute; Ed Stanley, oboe; Dave Duree, clarinet; Wayne Wold, organ; and Noel Lester, piano.
