Feb. 5: Hips for Hafla benefits American Heart Association

FREDERICK, Md.—A belly-dancing event will benefit an organization that raises awareness about heart disease and stroke Feb. 5 at Hood College.

The third annual Hips for Hearts Hafla is a high-energy belly dance showcase on National Wear Red Day to benefit Go Red for Women of the American Heart Association. Dancers from Hood College and throughout Maryland will perform a variety of belly dance styles at 7:30 p.m. in Hodson Auditorium in Rosenstock Hall.

The show is free and open to the public. Donations for Go Red for Women will be collected during the show. Funds raised will support educational programs to increase women’s awareness about their risk for heart disease and stroke as well as critical research to discover scientific knowledge about cardiovascular health.
