FREDERICK, Md.—The Hood College Feminist Student Union will present “The Vagina Monologues” Feb. 24 and 25 at 7 p.m. in Hodson Auditorium in Rosenstock Hall.
The Vagina Monologues is a celebration of the female body and female empowerment. A theatrical production, it was originally written by Eve Ensler as a result of interviews with a diverse group of more than 200 women. Hood is presenting it to raise awareness of violence against women and to raise money for Heartly House, the only organization in Frederick County that provides comprehensive services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.
Admission is free for Hood students and $5 for faculty, staff and members of the public. There will also be t-shirts, chocolate vulva candies and buttons for sale, as well as a feminine products drive. For more information, contact Kaylene Wright at firstname.lastname@example.org.
