FREDERICK, Md.—The doctoral program application period at Hood College is open through March 24. Visit www.hood.edu/gradapply to apply today.
The 60-credit, three-year experience leads to a choice of two degrees: the Doctorate of Organizational Leadership for those in public and private education, the nonprofit sector, training and development, government or military; and the Doctorate of Business Administration for those employed in business and industry who hold business-related graduate degrees.
The multidisciplinary program is structured by cohort. Both DOL and DBA candidates advance together through core and research courses. They then begin to differentiate their degree plans by developing a specialization that meets their personal and professional goals, selecting courses in business, psychology and counseling or education courses. Finally, they complete their action-research capstone work.
Developed in consultation with business, government, education and nonprofit constituencies, the doctoral program in organizational leadership is designed to prepare leaders to transform their organizations and their communities. Classes are held on Hood’s Frederick, Maryland, campus on a schedule that accommodates working professionals.
Information sessions for the doctoral program will be held Feb. 21 and 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Whitaker Campus Center with a presentation by the program director at 6:30 p.m. each night. These events offer an opportunity for prospective students to talk with current doctoral students and faculty about their professional aspirations and learn how Hood can help them achieve their goals. RSVP online at www.hood.edu/gradevents. Walk-ins are welcome.
