FREDERICK, Maryland—Hood College alumni will display their art in an exclusive group exhibit Sept. 14 through Oct. 15 at Gifts Inn Boonsboro, 16 N. Main St. in Boonsboro, Maryland.
The exhibit will feature the works of alumni from the Classes of 1965 through 2017. More than 20 artists will be featured, including painters, photographers, wood workers, potters, jewelers and fiber artists.
Store owner Natoma Reed Vargason ’80, P’12 wanted to host a Hood alumni exhibit because of her connections to the College. Four Hood alumni were already working with her store, and those artists were her first sounding board for the idea. She said their enthusiasm sparked her to move forward with the idea.
“I thought that this would be a unique opportunity to reach out and establish new relationships with artists and highlight their work at a local shop that is dedicated to showcasing local and regional artists,” said Vargason. “I was delighted with the response that I received and must say that this exhibit is a very eclectic showcase of talent.”
As a showcase of regional arts and crafts, Gifts Inn BoonsBoro features gifts for nearly every occasion. The opening reception will be Sept. 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, contact Vargason at firstname.lastname@example.org. For store hours, visit giftsinnboonsboro.com/contact-us.
