Research and Teaching Interests
My dissertation examined boundary values for a partial differential equation that describes the propagation of sound underwater. Since coming to Hood, my interests have expanded to include mathematical pedagogy, especially as it relates to young women and their interest in mathematics, and the history of mathematics.
I have supervised summer undergraduate research projects in numerical analysis and in the history of mathematics. I enjoy taking students to conferences and encouraging them to give talks and present posters.
