Alison Bazala Kim holds a B.M. from the New England Conservatory, M.M. from Rice University, D.M.A. from the University of Maryland and studied at the Eastman School of Music, all in cello performance. Dr. Bazala Kim has performed in Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, and the Kennedy Center and toured internationally with the New World Symphony. She was the Principal Cellist of the Greater Lansing Symphony Orchestra and the Associate Principal Cellist of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra. Currently, she plays for the Annapolis and Alexandria Symphony Orchestras. She has performed at the U.S. Department of State, the Embassies of Bangladesh and Romania, the University of Maryland, Hood College, Frederick Community College, St. John’s College and the Washington Arts Club. Alison Bazala Kim taught at Michigan State University, Anne Arundel Community College and the Naval Academy. She teaches at Hood College, Washington Adventist University and has a private studio.
