Biography
Angie Bauman started her path in Student Affairs during her undergraduate years at Purdue University as a member of the Student Orientation Committee and The Crazy Monkeys, Purdue’s improv comedy group. She finished her undergraduate education at Purdue University with degrees in engineering and communications, with a concentration in public relations. During her time at Purdue, she realized her passion was in student affairs and not engineering, so she went on to receive a master of science in higher education from Syracuse University.
Bauman brings with her experience in orientation, first-year experience programming, commuter life, student organizations advising and support, Greek life, event planning, residence life, diversity and social justice initiatives, parent and family member programming and leadership development.
She has also made presentations and served on numerous committees for professional organizations including the National Orientation Directors Association, National Association of Campus Activities and American College Personnel Association. Her presentations have covered topics such as service learning as a part of orientation leader training, utilizing diversity and social justice to improve yourself and your community and how to mentor undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in student affairs.
While at Hood, Bauman’s main responsibilities are advising the Student Government Association Finance Committee, co-advising the Campus Activities Board, supporting student organizations, leadership development, family programming and transfer orientation initiatives.
