Co-op Health & Safety Summer 2014 Internship

Position Description

The co-op role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment and to support/promote the students’ career goals through contacts with professionals in their fields of study. Co-op assignments allow students to integrate knowledge and skills in manners that are mutually beneficial to the student and Volvo Group.

Responsibilities / Main tasks

Project based tasks include:

  • 5S
  • Ergonomics
  • Reporting
  • Data entry
Minimum Education Requirements
  • Applicants must be entering their sophomore year class standing or higher; MBA students encouraged to apply
  • History of academic achievement: GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred

Co-Op Industrial Health Administration Summer 2014 Internship

Hagerstown, MD

Position Description

The internship/coop role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment, and to support/promote the graduate's career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. The internship experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Volvo by working on important and innovative projects. Internships are structured learning experiences where interns/coops and our full time professionals work together on projects within their selected organization. The internship allows students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and Volvo Group.

Responsibilities
  • Working in an industrial/manufacturing medical environment, the successful candidate will be assigned tasks in the medical department
  • Tasks include: administrative work, appointment scheduling, basic first aid, CPR, assisting with pre-employment and required physicals for certifications, and assisting with other medical tasks as required
  • Project: provide assistance in the further development of the disability management team to develop better communicated process between management and the employees
Minimum Education Requirements
  • Entering Sophomore year class standing or higher; MBA students also encouraged to apply
  • History of academic achievement: GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
  • Participation in school or extracurricular activities and experience in leadership roles
  • Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR
