Open enrollment starts Friday, May 17, 2013, and continues through Friday, May 31, 2013. Now is the time to review your health insurance needs and make any changes in your choice of coverage types, dependents to be covered, etc. There are three CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield plans from which you can choose for your medical care insurance benefit. When you select benefits, effective July 1, 2013, the selection will be for one year. It also is the time to decide if you wish to enroll or re-enroll in Hyatt Legal Services.
There are many services that are received during the course of the year that are either limited to a certain number (such as outpatient therapies), or are processed according to the number of services received (such as outpatient mental health services). Although our plan year runs July through June, remember that these services, in addition to deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums, remain on a calendar year cycle.
Included in this Open Enrollment area is detailed explanatory information about all the plans and other material. While much information is on the web, this is an online enrollment, accessed via the Employee Portal. Also included in this area is Online Open Enrollment Quick Tips providing information to successfully navigate the online open enrollment process. Please log in, go to the Myself tab, and click on Open Enrollment. If at any time in the process you need to stop, you can click Draft and go back to the enrollment process later, as long as you are within the open enrollment period.
As you go through open enrollment, please take the opportunity to view the Notes provided for the various types and specific plans available. If you choose to elect either the Health Maintenance Organization or High Ded HMO w/ HSA, you will need to be prepared to enter the name and number of your Primary Care Physician and that of any dependents you are covering. This information can be found at www.carefirst.com in the Find a Provider section.
