FREDERICK, Md.—The Hood College Dance Ensemble spring concert will be held April 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Hodson Auditorium in Rosenstock Hall.
The performances, which are free and open to the public, will feature student and guest choreographers and dancers. Seniors will be recognized at Saturday's performance.
Choreographers include Hood students Stephanie Weaver, dance co-captain, who created a musical theater and jazz dance piece to "On a Cloud"; junior Abigale Mills, who choreographed a lyrical dance to "Just a Kiss" by Lady Antebellum; senior Amber Queen Harris, who created a modern solo to "Out My Mind, Just in Time" by Erykah Badu; junior Breton Stailey, who choreographed a high-energy jazz piece to "Bring on the Men" from the musical "Jekyll and Hyde"; and artistic director Fran Marsili, whose modern piece, "Choices," comprises three different musical selections.
The program will also include a dance that senior Carlie Colella, the reigning Miss Maryland, performed for the talent competition at the Miss America Pageant in January.
Guest choreographers and performers include former Hood dance captain Lauren Proctor, who choreographed a special dance for the senior troupe members; and the Souls of the Feet Dance Company.
Donations will be accepted at the door. For more information, contact Marsili at (301) 696-3492 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
