FREDERICK, Md.—Two nationally known speakers on Islam will offer an open question-and-answer session at Hood College on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Whitaker Campus Center Commons.
Imam Yahya Hendi, Muslim chaplain at Georgetown University and imam of the Islamic Society of Frederick, and Zahid H. Bukhari, national president of the Islamic Circle of North America, will offer remarks and lead the question-and-answer session regarding Islam.
Hendi, an expert in religion and Islam in the United States, is well known for his appearances on national and international television as an expert in interfaith dialogue and as one of the Muslim leaders who met regularly with President George W. Bush after the Sept. 11, 2011 tragedy. Bukhari, national president of the Islamic Circle of North America, will join Hendi to offer remarks and lead the question-and-answer session for the audience.
This event is sponsored by the Hood College department of Middle Eastern studies, Frederick County Muslim Council, the Hood College Muslim Student Association and office of multicultural affairs and international student programs.
