FREDERICK, Md.—Original works of art by two student artists are on display March 30 through April 7 in the Whitaker Campus Center Gallery at Hood College.
The opening reception for the senior exhibitions and artists' gallery talks is March 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The gallery is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Passage is a collection of digitally manipulated double-exposure photographs by senior art student Connie Harris. She juxtaposes images of nature and the natural environment, inspired by the mountainous and rural areas around Sabillasville, Md., against passageways such as windows, bridges and doors to suggest a desire to escape and explore the unreachable.
John West Martin's That Was Zen, This is Dao is an exhibit of ceramic drinking vessels and vertical forms that explore function through form, surface treatment and firing method; and use through shape.
