(First semester/3 credits)
This course examines leadership theory; organizational theory including the structure and
dynamics of organizations; motivation and decision-making processes examining the hierarchy
of authority within the organization; the interaction of various groups in the decision-making
process; communication skills; the various communication networks and their impact upon the different groups within the organization; organizational change focusing on the group
culture and dynamics and its impact on the efforts of the leadership to promote change within
the organization. Students have the opportunity to meet with educational leaders to discuss
challenges in educational leadership.
