HIST 248 Europe since 1939

(Course is offered as needed/3 credits) 

Major events in Europe: politics, history, diplomacy and social change in the major countries of western and eastern Europe. Begins with World War II and its effect on European society. Looks closely at the problems of the postwar, including the United Nations, the Cold War, the Common Market, anticolonialism, the collapse of the Communist regimes in eastern Europe and the growth of the European Union.
