History Major, B.A.
The major in history is designed to address the diverse needs and interests of Hood College students by offering a choice of three separate programs of study: 1) the major in history, 2) the major in history with optional public history concentration and 3) the major in history with secondary education certification. The department also offers a minor in history. In addition, students majoring in history may tailor their program to include an internship or study abroad, or to prepare for graduate school. Each student should consult with a member of the history faculty to discuss how to further her or his educational needs and career goals.
The minor in history requires 18 credits. The student should consult with a member of the history faculty for guidance in choosing a pattern of courses suited to her or his interests and career goals.
