Congratulations on being admitted to Hood College!

Hood College supports active and engaged citizenship and applauds students for their respectful expression of opinions and peaceful protests. Disciplinary measures resulting from participation in peaceful protests will not impact your admission to Hood. Stand up and be heard.

New Students for the Fall 2018 Semester:

Next steps to enrollment 

First-year students

  1.   Submit enrollment deposit to secure your place in the class and residence halls (if you want to live on campus). If you live more than 30 miles from campus you are required to live on campus for your first three years at Hood. For more information on the housing requirement, click here.
  2. Note: The online deposit website only supports newer, more secure web browsers. If you have an older browser, you may not be able to access the online deposit website. If you have any problems accessing the online deposit website, or if you would like to make your deposit by phone, please contact the Office of Admission at 301-696-3400.      Congratulations! You've taken a great step toward becoming a Hood student. The next one is important because this is how we will communicate a lot of information in the coming months.

  3. Set up your Hood College email account. You will receive a letter with instructions within a week of submitting your deposit  You must complete this set-up as all future email communication will be sent to this email address and the login info will grant you access to all future Hood College logins.

  4. You will be asked to complete your first-year registration questionnaire. This questionnaire will be sent to your Hood College email account.

  5. You should begin to complete your Hood College placement exams as soon as you have finished your questionnaire. Learn more about placement exams here.

  6. You will be contacted by CAAR to discuss the results of your placement exams and to register for one of the following Summer Orientation Dates:
    • Friday, June 15, 2018
    • Friday, June 22, 2018
    • Monday, June 25, 2018
     

  7. Submit a request to your high school to have your official final transcripts sent to Hood College.

  8. Request that College Board send official AP Exam score reports to Hood College, and have your official SAT or ACT scores sent as well.

  9. Attend Fall Orientation.

  10. Classes start Monday, Aug. 27, 2018.

Transfer Students

  1.   Submit enrollment deposit to secure a place in your class and residence halls (if you want to live on campus)   

  2. Set up your Hood College email account. You will receive a letter with instructions within a week of submitting your deposit  You must complete this set-up as all future email communication will be sent to this email address and the login info will grant you access to all future Hood College logins.
  3. Most advising appointments will take place on Fridays beginning in late April. Information on registering for one of these Friday advising appointments or to make alternate arrangements will be emailed to enrolled students beginning in March 2018. If you have questions about this process, please email transfertohood@hood.edu.

  4. If indicated on your official credit evaluation, please take the appropriate Hood College placement exams.  Learn more and sign up for your exams here.

  5. Request that final transcripts be sent to the Hood College registrar's office.

  6. Transfer transition programming will be held in July and August.
