Film to focus on understanding Muslim point of view

FREDERICK, Md.--A critically acclaimed documentary that focuses on understanding the Muslim point of view on key issues will be shown Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. in the Hodson Auditorium in Rosenstock Hall at Hood College.
The event is free and seating is by general admission. Reservations are encouraged at www.insideislamathoodcollege.eventbrite.com.
Alex Kronemer, co-executive producer of the film, and Yahya Hendi, imam of the Islamic Society of Frederick, will offer remarks and lead a question-and-answer session following the showing of the film.
"Inside Islam: What a Billion Muslims Really Think" brings to the screen the first major opinion poll of the Muslim world, conducted over six years and in 35 Muslim majority countries by Gallup, an internationally recognized polling organization. The documentary explores the attitudes of Muslims toward Americans and the Western nations as well as the needs and values of Muslim women. Based on the book entitled ýWho Speaks for Islam? What a billion Muslims Really Think,ý the film challenges conventional wisdom and attempt to shed light on what motivates Muslims worldwide.
The documentary, produced by Unity Productions Foundations, will debut on PBS stations in 2010.
