Orientation
Orientation is an important step in adjusting to life here at Hood. We are sure that you are feeling many mixed emotions right now and Orientation is designed to help you in your transition into our neighborhood. At Orientation you will learn about the policies and procedures that are specific to Hood College, get to know the layout of the campus, receive academic advising, meet the faculty and staff who will help you on your path toward graduation and meet many new people who are sure to become lifelong friends!
We understand that transfer students already have the experience to be successful students, so we have specifically designed an Orientation program for you with that in mind. At this condensed, "one-stop shop" Orientation, you will learn about important Hood College support services available to you; receive your Hood ID, student mail box and other important documents; purchase a parking pass; and meet faculty, staff and other incoming students.
We recognize that going to college is a new chapter not only in the lives of the students, but also in the lives of parents and family members, who are an integral part of each student's transition into Hood College. Parents and family members are invited to be involved in our orientation program, which include sessions on academic and personal issues students will experience, information on financial matters, housing, dining and health concerns. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet other parents and family members, faculty and staff members on campus.
If you will be attending Hood for the first time in the spring semester, we have designed a special orientation session just for you. Join other first-year, transfer and adult students for a condensed program that will provide all the information you will need to get started at Hood. You will learn about important Hood College support services, receive your on-campus mail box and ID card, purchase a parking permit and meet other incoming students, faculty and staff!
