A reception and informal talk by the artists is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 7 from 6-8 p.m. in the Hodson Gallery.

KUDOS: Andrea Warnick, M.A.'05, has created a calendar featuring the artwork of children from the Senthalir Orphanage in northeastern Sri Lanka, an orphanage that was badly damaged by the tsunami. Last January, Andrea traveled to Sri Lanka with a medical relief team to help tsunami survivors. During one of her visits to the orphanage, she was without a translator to help with the communication. She gave the children paper and crayons, hoping to bridge the communication gap. It is from those pictures that the idea for the calendar was formed. She hopes to use the proceeds to help establish a medical clinic and buy furnishings and educational supplies for the orphanage.
