WOMEN'S LACROSSE (3-5, 2-0 AWCC): In Hood's only contest last week, four different players added goals in a loss to York College (Pa.). Liz Rakowski, Britney Colandreo, Brandy Noel and Rachel Loss all found the back of the net for Hood. Tuesday the Blazers travel to Baltimore to take on the College of Notre Dame (Md.) Gators in a battle between two unbeaten teams in the Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference. Hood wraps up the regular season slate with a Sunday evening matchup with Marymount University in Arlington, Va.

SOFTBALL (9-15, 3-1 AWCC): Hood dropped a pair of nonconference doubleheaders last week to the University of Mary Washington and Shenandoah University. The Blazers have a crucial doubleheader Thursday at Mary Baldwin College to decide the seeding for the 2007 Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference tournament. Last season Hood earned the top seed in the AWCC tournament and toppled the second-seeded Fighting Squirrels, 10-1, in the title game to clinch the AWCC crown and their first NCAA Tournament appearance. Hood also travels to Mt. Aloysius College Friday before ending the regular season at home Sunday against Juniata College.

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TENNIS (MEN: 5-11, 1-5 CAC/WOMEN: 8-10, 4-0 AWCC): The Blazer women capped a perfect Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference slate Thursday by trouncing Trinity University (D.C.) 9-0. Hood, by virtue of its perfect 4-0 league mark, will be the top seed in this weekend's AWCC tournament at the College of Notre Dame (Md.). The Blazers are seeking their seventh conference crown in the past eight years. The men's squad lost to Salisbury University Monday in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament, finishing their season with a record of 5-11.

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD (Men: 7-3; Women: 5-3): The Blazers lowered 11 school records Saturday at the Capital Athletic Conference championship. Matt Haynes broke records in the hammer, javelin and shot put while Erica Hamor also registered school-record distances in the hammer and javelin. Other record setters included Ryan Jenkins in the 200 meters, Julia Blickenstaff in the steeplechase, Corey DeMaster in the 400 meter hurldes, Tomilayo Komolafe in the long jump and the men's and women's 4x400 meter relay teams. Hood hosts the Blazer 5K Sunday at 9 a.m. For more information, click here.
