The Blazers and the Wesley College Wolverines engaged in the longest game in the five-year history of the men's program Monday evening as Wesley emerged victorious in four overtimes, 111-106. Freshman Tyler Snoots (above) notched his first career double-double in a 73-72 victory over Salisbury University Saturday, which clinched a home game for the Blazers in the quarterfinal round of the Capital Athletic Conference tournament Tuesday. The third-seeded Blazers will host sixth-seeded Marymount University Tuesday at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School. Hood split the regular season series with the Saints; the Blazers earned a 92-88 win on the road Jan. 9 but fell 89-76 at home Feb. 9. Hood advanced to the championship game of the CAC tournament last year in its first year in the league.

The Blazers qualified for their first Capital Athletic Conference tournament as the No. 8 seed and will travel to top-seeded University of Mary Washington Tuesday for a 6 p.m. quarterfinal contest. The Eagles are currently ranked sixth in NCAA Division III by D3Hoops.com and captured both meetings with the Blazers earlier this season. Junior Jessica Parrish (above) netted a team-high 12 points in the last meeting between the Blazers and Eagles. Fans unable to travel to Fredericksburg, Va., for Tuesday's game can follow the action live on the internet using Mary Washington's live stats feature.

Senior Jason Anderson (above) scored two goals and assisted on a third in Hood's season opener against Capital Athletic Conference rival St. Mary's College (Md.) Tuesday. Blake Rust and Michael Matteson also scored for Hood. Sam Hofmann made 18 saves in the net, while Nicholas O'Brien made his Hood debut and turned away three Seahawk shots. The Blazers host their first game of the spring Wednesday against CAC rival University of Mary Washington before traveling to York College (Pa.) Saturday.

After a 12-day layoff, Hood hosts a pair of games this weekat Thomas Athletic Field. Senior Britney Colandreo (above) and the Blazers entertain Bridgewater College Thursday in nonconference action before making its Capital Athletic Conference debut Saturday hosting Marymount University.

First-year head coach Kate Barrick takes the reigns of the Blazer softball program this spring as Hood enters its first season in the Capital Athletic Conference. Senior Alecia Weddle (above) and the Blazers host a pair of doubleheaders this weekend against Shenandoah University (Saturday) and Columbia Union College (Sunday).

The Blazers wrapped up the indoor slate Saturday at Dickinson College. Ola Komolafe, Justin Everett (above) and Blair Ames all lowered school records in their respective individual events. Komolafe placed sixth in the 55-meter dash with a school-record clocking of 6.83 seconds (6.80 in prelims). Ames ran the mile in 4:49.17, breaking the school record for both indoors and outdoors. He also lowered the indoor record in the 800 meters with a time of 2:09.41. Everett's effort in the long jump (19', 11 3/4") broke Tomilayo Komolafe's record from last April and was good for fourth place in the meet. Hood's next meet will be March 8 at Salisbury University.

The Blazers wrapped up the indoor slate Saturday at Dickinson College. Lauren Smith placed sixth in the 3000 meters with a school-record time of 11:52.00. Katie Thomas broke the indoor record and also placed sixth in the 55-meter hurdles in 9.61 seconds. She also bettered her time in the 55-meter dash (8.02) and the 200-meter dash (29.01). The 4x400 relay team of Sara Stiles (above), Amanda Kwiatkowski, Kelly Keyser and Thomas broke the indoor and outdoor standards by nearly five seconds with a time of 5:13.94. Hood's next meet will be March 8 at Salisbury University.
