Men's Basketball (12-4, 6-1 CAC)

Hood won its fourth straight and eighth in nine games Saturday over Villa Julie College. Hood is now 36-11 all-time at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School. Junior Ryan Junghans scored 20-plus points for the ninth time this season with a game-high 26 points. He also moved into ninth place on Hood’s single-season scoring chart (326). Freshman Mark McGlone (above) notched his first double-double as a Blazer with 18 points and 11 rebounds, both career highs. The first-place Blazers travel to Salisbury University Wednesday before hosting York College (Pa.) Saturday at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School.

Junior Whitney Schultheis (above) scored a career-high 23 points in a 69-62 win over Trinity University (D.C.) Wednesday. Sophomore Jen Willison recorded her third double-double of the season with 13 points and 17 rebounds against the Tigers. Hood has a pair of Capital Athletic Contests scheduled this week. The Blazers travel to Salisbury University Wednesday before returning home to host York College (Pa.) Saturday at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School.

Junior Matt Haynes was a triple winner in the 1000 free, the 50 free and 100 free in Hood's loss to Gallaudet University Saturday. Senior Jason Kinder and freshman Robert Ennis each won a pair of events. Kinder took the 200 and 500 free while Ennis captured the 200 individual medley and the 100 breast. Freshman Kyle Atras (above) finished third in the 1000 free, fourth in the 100 fly and third in the 500 free. The Blazers travel to Frostburg State University Wednesday and host St. Mary's College (Md.) Saturday at 2 p.m. Hood wraps up the week at Penn State University-Altoona Sunday.

Women's Swimming (2-3, 1-3 CAC)

Hood won its first Capital Athletic Conference meet of the season, 106-77, over Gallaudet University Saturday. The Blazers won seven events en route to the victory. Sophomore Erica Hamor was a triple winner (1000 free, 100 fly, 100 breast) while senior Katie Hitchens captured the sprints (50, 100 free). Senior Amy Kaufman won the 500 free and freshman Kim Wolfgang won the 100 back. Junior Ashley Garyn (above) was fifth in the 200 free and second in the 100 free. The Blazers travel to Frostburg State University Wednesday and host St. Mary's College (Md.) Saturday at 2 p.m. Hood wraps up the week at Penn State University-Altoona Sunday.
