The Blazers traveled to Salisbury University Wednesday to take on the defending national champion Sea Gulls. Jason Anderson, Dominique Shorter (above), Alex Tkacz and Sofiane Lazar all scored for Hood. Then Saturday the Blazers squared off with Marywood University in Scranton, Pa. Hood reeled off five of the game's first six goals but could not hold on down the stretch, falling 12-8. Will Oconis netted a hat trick as the Blazers registered a season-high eight scores. Hood hosts three home games this week against Washington & Lee University, Virginia Wesleyan College and Marymount University.

Brandy Noel notched a hat trick and Kelsey Blackwell scored the first two goals of her Blazer career Wednesday at St. Mary's College (Md.). Then Sunday, Noel, Jen Graham (above) and Sarah Balukoff ripped single tallies in a nonconference tilt with Chesnut Hill College. Goalkeeper Lauren Lieb became Hood's all-time saves leader Sunday. She has racked up 340 saves in her four-year career, breaking the record previously held by Stephanie Andrews '99 (335). Hood's lone contest of the week pits the Blazers against the York College (Pa.) Spartans Tuesday in a Capital Athletic Conference contest at 4 p.m. at Thomas Athletic Field.

Hood's Capital Athletic Conference debut with the Gallaudet University Bison was postponed Friday due to heavy rains. The contest will be made up this week in the third of three home doubleheaders for the Blazers. Sophomore Stephanie Gardner (above) and the Blazers entertain Wesley College Tuesday, Mt. Aloysius College Wednesday and the Bison Friday.

Freshman Ola Komolafe (above) won the 400 meter dash in 52.5 seconds at the Salisbury University Opener Saturday. He was also fifth in the 200 meters and was part of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay squads. William Andrews took fifth in the 5000 meters in the fifth-fastest time in program history (17:18.50). Brendan Greenlees lowered his personal record in the 1500 by 21 seconds (4:39.50) and shaved 32 seconds off his 5000 meter time (17:24.10). The Blazers' next competition is slated for Wednesday March 19 at York College (Pa.).

Erica Hamor won the women's javelin and placed sixth in the hammer throw as the Blazers opened the outdoor season at Salisbury University Saturday. Danielle Sgro took second in the 5000 meters while Katie Thomas (above) was third in both the 100 meters and the 100 meter hurdles. Additionally, freshman Kayla Murphy set a school record in the shot put with a toss of 24' 5 1/4". The Blazers' next competition is slated for Wednesday March 19 at York College (Pa.).
