MEN'S LACROSSE (0-5, 0-2 CAC): Junior midfielder Jason Anderson tied the school record with four goals in a 9-8 loss to DeSales University Saturday in Hood's home opener. Freshman midfielder Blake Rust also tied the school record with three assists. Hood scored a season-high eight goals in defeat. The Blazers have a pair of road games scheduled over spring break. Hood travels to Lexington, Va., to face Washington & Lee Monday before heading over to Ashland, Va., for a Wednesday matchup with Randolph-Macon College.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE (0-2, 0-0 AWCC): Freshman midfielder Brandy Noel scored four goals and six other Blazers found the back of the net but the visiting Chestnut Hill College Griffins came away with a 20-11 victory over the Hood College women's lacrosse team Saturday afternoon in a nonconference game at Thomas Athletic Field. The Blazers continue their eight-game homestand Sunday hosting Rosemont College at noon.

SOFTBALL (1-1, 0-0 AWCC): The Hood College softball team split a doubleheader with the visiting Villa Julie College Mustangs Saturday afternoon in the season opener for both teams at the Hood Softball Complex. Junior Alecia Weddle was the hero for the Blazers in the first game as she delivered a clutch pinch-hit two-run single in the bottom of the seventh to clinch a 6-5 victory for Hood. In the nightcap, Villa Julie batted around in the fifth inning and plated eight runs to break open a 4-1 game and went on to win 12-4 in a game that was called after five innings due to darkness. Junior Jamie Bussey went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs for the Blazers in the second game. This week the Blazers travel to Savannah, Ga., for an eight-game road swing at the Smash Hit Spring Break Tournament hosted by the Savannah College of Art & Design.

MEN'S & WOMEN'S TENNIS (MEN: 0-0, 0-0 CAC/WOMEN: 0-0, 0-0 AWCC): Hood's season opener against Salisbury was postponed but the Blazers are set to travel to Hilton Head, S.C., for Spring Break. Both the Blazer men and women have four matches scheduled this week.

MEN'S & WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD (0-0): The men's and women's track and field teams were idle last week but return to action this weekend at the York College Invitational in York, Pa.
