| MEN'S LACROSSE (0-10, 0-5 CAC): In a busy week for Hood, the Blazers came up short against three Capital Athletic Conference rivals. In the Catholic contest, junior Jason Anderson registered his second hat trick of the spring with three goals. Additionally, classmate Will Oconis tied the school record with four assists as the Blazers matched their season high with eight goals in defeat. Anderson leads the team with 14 goals on the season, a new single season school record. Oconis has racked up 10 assists on the spring, also a school record. In addition, goalkeeper Sam Hofmann has eclipsed his school record with 152 saves.

| WOMEN'S LACROSSE (1-3, 1-0 AWCC): Seven different Blazers scored Sunday in a 20-0 rout of Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference rival Wells College as Hood secured its first victory of the spring. Freshman Brandy Noel, Hood's leading scorer on the season, registered a team-high seven goals, one away from the single-game school record held by current Hood assistant coach Tiffany Still (8 vs. Ferrum, 2003). Laurie Burrier, Liz Rakowski and Rachel Loss all netted hat tricks in the triumph, while Jayme Frost scored a pair of goals and Jen Graham and Christa Lundskow added single tallies. It is believed to be the first shutout in Hood women's lacrosse history.

| SOFTBALL (4-8, 2-0 AWCC): The Blazer bats came alive Sunday as the Hood softball team cruised to a doubleheader sweep over Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference rival Wells College. The Blazers sent 16 hitters to the dish and plated 11 runs in the first inning of game one en route to a 13-0 triumph. Then in the nightcap, Hood used a four-run first and a five-run third inning to knock off the Express once again, 10-1. Senior Tamara Maggard went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs on the weekend while Christine Harvey drove in four runs in the sweep. Sophomore hurler Jamie Gardner tossed her first complete game shutout of the season. Gardner also picked up the win in the second game, tossing three more scoreless innings.

| MEN'S & WOMEN'S TENNIS (MEN: 2-7, 0-1 CAC/WOMEN: 2-8, 0-0 AWCC): The Hood women had three matches postponed last week due to poor weather conditions, but the Blazers did manage to get in matches against Capital Athletic Conference rivals Catholic University and York College (Pa.). Against Catholic, Lisa Blickenstaff earned Hood's lone singles victory at the No. 6 spot and she teamed with Christina Rosa at third doubles to pick up an 8-6 triumph.
Stephanie Garrett downed York's Kelly Summers, 6-0, 6-0, at third singles while Laura Wanner and Christine Ocampos-Barry topped Heidi Acker and Paige Doutrich, 8-5, at No. 2 doubles. The Hood men will try to snap their six-match losing skid this week when the Blazers host Lincoln and Shepherd.

| MEN'S & WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD (0-0): The Hood College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the First Annual Dragon Invitational Saturday hosted by Howard Community College. The Blazer men finished fourth of nine teams with 87 points while the women's squad placed third out of seven teams with 97 points. Seven individual school records fell at the meet, including Matt Haynes in the javelin, Corey DeMaster in the long jump and triple jump, William Andrews in the steeplechase, Erica Hamor in the javelin and hammer throw and Anika Watley in the long jump. The men's 4x100 relay team of Ryan Jenkins, Tomilayo Komolafe, Mike Cahill and Faizal Johnson also set a new school standard.
