| SOFTBALL (14-21, 5-1 AWCC): The Blazers traveled to New Concord, Ohio for their second straight NCAA tournament appearance. Hood took on the ninth-ranked Division III team in the country, the Muskingum College Muskies, in the opening round game but dropped an 8-0 decision. Senior Christine Harvey collected Hood's lone basehit of the contest with a double in the second inning. In Hood's second game against Anderson University, the Blazers and Ravens battled through two scoreless innings before Anderson plated three runs in the top of the third. The Blazers got on the board in the sixth inning when sophomore Sara Wastler doubled and senior Tamara Maggard singled to bring around Wastler to make it 8-1. The Ravens stretched their lead to 11-1 in the seventh, which would prove to be the final margin. The Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference champion Blazers landed six players on the all-conference team, led by sophomore Jamie Gardner who was selected as the league's Co-Most Outstanding Player.
