Hood claimed third place in the Dickinson College Tip-Off Tournament, falling in overtime to Staten Island, 81-73, before rolling to a 94-51 win over Penn State Harrisburg. Senior Jesse Gutekunst (above) notched a double-double in both contests, with 13 points and 21 boards Saturday and 23 markers and 11 boards Friday. His 21 rebounds Saturday were a tournament record and one shy of Gutekunst’s school record set last season. Junior Ryan Junghans was Hood’s leading scorer in both games with 31 Friday and 22 Saturday and was named to the all-tournament team.

Sophomore Jen Willison (above) registered her first double-double of the season with 14 points and a game-high 15 rebounds in a 63-38 loss to the Richard Stockton Ospreys Saturday in the consolation final of the Eastern Mennonite University Tournament. Willison, who was Hood's lone representative on the all-tournament team, connected on just 2-10 from the floor but nailed 10-15 at the foul line in 27 minutes of work. She also had 12 points and six boards Friday in Hood’s opener.

Women's Swimming

Senior captain Lenore Brown was a triple winner in the 100 back (1:07.46), the 50 free (27.94) and the 500 free (5:53.15). Classmate Amy Kaufman claimed top honors in the 200 free (2:07.01) and the 200 back (2:27.13) while sophomore Erica Hamor also doubled, capturing the 200 fly (2:39.27) and the 100 free (1:00.78). Other winners for the Blazers included junior Ashley Garyn in the 1000 free (12:52.04), freshman Kim Wolfgang in the 100 breast (1:18.83) and freshman Leah Chomlek (above) in the 200 breast (3:01.59).
