MEN'S AND WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY: Sophomore William Andrews was the top finisher for the men and set a sophomore class record (28:21) by clocking the fifth-fastest time ever in Hood history. Faraz Shoai set a senior class record of 28:23 and junior Nick Manning ran the ninth-fastest time ever in 28:31. Blair Ames and Corlin Blakey (left) were Hood's fourth and fifth finishers, respectively. Junior Danielle Sgro was the top finisher for the women and set a junior class record (23:57) which was the third-fastest time ever in Hood history. Freshman Lauren Smith ran the 10th-fastest time ever in 25:07. April Penn, Jen Willison and Katie Thomas rounded out Hood's top five.

FIELD HOCKEY (3-4, 0-1 CAC): Hood recorded its first back-to-back wins of the season, both one-goal decisions. Sophomore Lauren Perzan converted a penalty stroke 1:18 into overtime to lift Hood to a 1-0 win over former Atlantic Women’s Colleges Conference opponent Wilson College. It was Hood’s first win over Wilson since 2004. Sophomores Brandy Noel (left) and Sarah Balukoff each scored a goal and junior Ashley Saylor recorded a season-high nine saves in a 2-1 win over Sweet Briar College.

MEN'S SOCCER (4-6, 1-4 CAC): The Blazers set a school record with 10 goals against Gallaudet University, breaking the previous record of nine set last season. It was Hood’s first CAC win of the season. Nine different players scored for Hood and five players scored their first goal of the season, including freshmen Jonathon Dawson, Adam Peterson and Joe Stanley, sophomore Max Gebhart (left) and senior Jason Donnelly.

WOMEN'S SOCCER (2-8, 0-3 CAC): Hood keeper Rachelle Buhrman recorded her second shutout of the season in a 4-0 blanking of Southern Virginia University. Sophomore Nikki Antalffy, the Capital Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week last week, scored a pair of goals and junior Jessica Parrish (left) and freshman Abby Dyjack also added single tallies. Hood looks for its first-ever CAC win this week.

VOLLEYBALL (2-14, 0-4 CAC): Hood took on a pair of Capital Athletic Conference opponents last week in Salisbury University and Villa Julie College. Freshman Chelsea Weaver and senior Lindsey Nagy collected five kills apiece against the Mustangs and senior Jamie Bussey registered 20+ digs for the fourth time this season. In the Salisbury match, Nagy put down seven kills while classmate Ashley Bryan finished with five and junior Jamie Gardner (left) chipped in four. Hood hosts the first of two tri-matches Saturday.
