Don started on a path in student affairs as an undergraduate. He served as the program board chair, a resident assistant and as program director of the campus radio station. He earned a bachelor's degree in broadcasting and public relations with a business minor from Otterbein College. Don is pursuing a masters degree in college student personnel from Bowling Green State University.
Don comes with a wealth of experience in student activities, program planning, leadership development, Greek life, student organizations support, multicultural initiatives and programming, campus center management and new student orientation.
He has also presented leadership programs and served as a conference keynote speaker on regional and national levels. His programs have ranged from motivation and developing a vision to new student orientation to adding diversity to orientation and campus programming. Throughout his career he has been actively involved in numerous professional organizations, including the National Orientation Directors Association, Association of Colleges and Unions-Iternational and the National Association of Campus Activities.
At Hood he is responsible for student activities, campus programming, the Whitaker Campus Center, Touchstone yearbook and student organization support. Overall, Don’s main goal is to empower students to design and implement programming for the campus community and to assist students in developing their leadership skills to the fullest potential. Through support to each student organizations, he ensures that all students feel welcome at Hood, specifically in the SAO, and at various programs.
