Mission Statement
The Hood College Department of Campus Safety is charged with safeguarding the lives of all persons within the jurisdiction of Hood College, protecting property, and assisting in securing all persons equal protection of the law.
The Hood College Department of Campus Safety is committed to the needs and concerns of the entire student body and academic community.
- We will endeavor always to uphold the high standards of our appointed position, ever mindful of our pledge to serve.
- We shall with diligence and concern, attempt to address even the smallest of concerns brought to our attention by any student, faculty member, administrator, or guest.
- We have given our oath to do so, and it is our honored duty as representatives to fulfill that commitment.
Code of Ethics:
- I WILL regard my office as a public trust and, in the discharge of my duties, be constantly mindful of my primary obligation to serve the student body, and academic community, efficiently and effectively.
- I WILL conduct my public and private life so that the public regards me as an example of stability, fidelity, and morality.
- I WILL bear faithful allegiance to the government and be loyal to my profession. I will accept as a sacred obligation my responsibility as a citizen to support the Constitution of the United States; and as a public official, consider the privilege of defending the principles of liberty, as defined in our Constitution and laws, the greatest honor that may be bestowed upon any person.
- I WILL never bring disgrace upon the College by an act of dishonesty or poor moral judgment.
- I WILL dedicate myself to being both courteous and helpful to every student, professor, administrator and guest at Hood College, in order to instill a sense of safety and security in their daily lives.
- I WILL dedicate myself to presenting a positive image through my deeds, appearance, and devotion to duty; realizing that, only with personal integrity will I be able to provide service with honor.
- I WILL administer the rules and regulations of the College in a just, impartial, and reasonable manner and not accord to some more reasonable treatment than others.
- I WILL never forget that I am a servant of the people, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the mission of the College.
