- R.A.D. - Rape Aggression Defense
- C.O.P.P.S. Officers - Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Campus Safety Officers form partnerships with residence halls, becoming valuable resources to the dorm residents.
- Emergency Call Boxes
There are six outdoor emergency blue light phones on campus. These phones are located:
- Whitaker Campus Center Parking Lot
- Behind Alumnae House
- South Entrance to Chapel Parking lot
- Front of French House
- Outdoor Swimming Pool
- Gambrill Gym Parking Lot
Look for additional blue light phones in Brodbeck Music Hall, Hodson
Technology Center, Rosenstock Hall, and Tatem Arts Center. In addition,
each residence hall has a call box at the main entrance as well as red
emergency phones on each floor. These are direct phones to the Campus
Communications Center which is monitored 24 hours a day.

Escorts
- The Hood College Campus Area Ride and Escort Service. (C.A.R.E.S.) program is designed to provide for the safety of Hood College student's, faculty, staff, and guests who need an escort and do not wish to walk alone. Campus Safety officers will provide on campus escorts. -
Medical Assistance
- Campus Safety officers are trained as First Responders. In the event of a medical emergency call the Communications Center by dialing 0 or ext. 3111. An officer will respond immediately. -
Let-Ins
- A let-in service is provided to resident students by the Campus Safety department. If a resident student has lost of forgotten her key or key card, a campus safety officer will provide access to the building or dorm room by following these procedures.
- Verifying with switchboard the request is from an assigned occupant of the room or hall.
- Checking the students I.D. requesting the let-in.
- Officers can only grant let-ins to students assigned to the room or hall.
Note:
If Campus Safety detects a pattern of let-ins for any individual, a $5.00 fee will be charged for the
third and subsequent let-ins.
Plumbing Problems
If any type of water problem occurs during normal working hours (8:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday), the shop personnel will be contacted immediately. The type of problem reported and its location will be given. Should a problem occur after normal working hours, a campus safety officer will respond to the location.
Water Leaks
First, locate the source of the water leak and turn off the valve controlling it. If the problem is severe, the boiler room personnel must be contacted. Officers must exercise caution and be swift to respond to water leaks involving electrical and computer equipment.
Steam Leaks
By their very nature steam leaks are potentially dangerous. During normal operating hours contact the boiler room or shop. After hours contact Campus Safety.
