FREDERICK, Md.—A forum on an American immigration policy regarding exemption from deportation for youth is scheduled for Oct. 26 at Hood College.
Hood and BB&T Bank are partnering to host the forum on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals—DACA—at 7 p.m. in the Whitaker Campus Center Commons. The forum will provide the opportunity for attendees to gain a clearer understanding of the specifics of the president’s executive order and the various ways community members, particularly with regard to educational opportunities, are impacted by this executive action.
Presenters will include Janis Judson, Ph.D., professor of political science, chair of the Hood College Department of Political Science and director of the law and criminal justice program; and David E. Ramos, vice president, regional multicultural banking officer, BB&T Bank.
BB&T Bank has supported DACA recipients and the organizations that advocate on the recipients’ behalf.
This event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to Jeanie Cronin at firstname.lastname@example.org or 301-696-3473 as soon as possible.
