Curriculum and Instruction (M.S.)
Program of Study
"Having gone to Hood as an undergraduate, I knew that the philosophy of the Education Department was solidly based and that its direction was clear and cohesive. During my 20 years of teaching, having a strong theoretical and philosophical background has been invaluable. It helps me to understand what makes a child tick. It also keeps the feeling of wonder alive."
The Hood College graduate program in curriculum and instruction builds on Hood's long history of teacher preparation. The courses leading to the master of science degree in curriculum and instruction provide the practicing teacher with current research theories and practices that apply to one of the following areas of concentration: Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Elementary School Science and Mathematics, Secondary Education and Special Education.
