Homecoming

The Office of Alumni Relations and Special Events invites you and your guests to the annual Homecoming Festival on Saturday, October 25 from 12-3:30 p.m. on the campus residential quad. Enjoy food, drinks and afternoon activities including facepainting, rock wall, a photo booth and live music by The Secondhand Ramblers. Also on Saturday join President Volpe in his final year as president for exciting updates on the College. Join other Blazer fans as we cheer on Hood's field hockey and soccer teams during their games throughout the day.

Special this year, in honor of the 20th anniversary of the African American studies program, Hood College will host an alumni panel event on Friday, October 24 at 4:30 p.m. in Whitaker Campus Center, followed by a reception to network with alumni and friends. Alumni panelists include: Nina Banks ’85; Aba Blankson ’99; Tiffany Taylor Newmuis ’03; Alida D. Gibson ’04, M.A.'06, C'06; Zainab Awelenje ’06; Monique S. House ’09; Elizabeth Duncan Diehl, M.A.’10; Athena Richardson ’13; and Alfreda Nwosu ’14.

Return to campus and enjoy fun activities while connecting with other alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends!

Twenty years ago, as a consequence of the Civil Rights Movement, Hood College launched its African American studies program. Two decades have passed and the program continues to offer courses and programs that discuss race, gender and sexuality and to prepare its students for life after Hood.

Hood College celebrates the program's 20th anniversary by hosting a panel of Hood graduates. Panelists will describe their experiences at Hood and share with the audience how the program helped to prepare them for life's challenges.
