Hood College and Mobilize Frederick Join Forces for 2nd Annual Climate Summit

Hood College is proud to announce its collaboration with Mobilize Frederick for Climate Summit 2024, scheduled to take place on Feb. 2 and 3. Building on the success of the inaugural Climate Summit in 2023, this event promises to be an engaging platform for individuals passionate about addressing climate issues. Registration for the summit is now open.

Speakers and panelists at Climate Summit 2024 include members of Frederick City and County sustainability and energy divisions, Mobilize Frederick, and numerous climate-focused organizations and non-profits. The summit’s opening keynote address on Friday morning will be from Dr. Rachel Lamb, senior climate advisor for the Maryland Department of the Environment.

The summit will cover topics such as climate justice, measuring climate progress, and more. Additionally, the Exhibit Hall will showcase innovations and solutions by public- and private-sector organizations aimed at fostering awareness and action on climate-related challenges. 

"We're thrilled to return this year with an expanded, two-day Climate Summit,” said Karen Cannon, executive director of Mobilize Frederick. “Climate Change impacts every aspect of our environment, economy, and public health.”

“We’re excited to partner with Hood on this expanded summit. We can answer more questions, share more resources, and will be hosting a reception and climate-themed art show,” Cannon continued. “This is the one time each year when we can bring local government, community groups, non-profits and local businesses together to focus on climate change solutions and progress toward our goals for a more sustainable future."
