Transfer Admission

Students transfer to Hood College for a number of reasons. Some plan from the start to begin their academic careers at a community college and come to Hood in later years; others discover their first college choice wasn't quite right, and they feel Hood would be a better fit.

Whatever the reason for considering a transfer, Hood welcomes students who want to learn more about its academics. Here, students benefit from studying the liberal arts with a dedicated faculty in small classes. Other advantages include exceptional post-graduation preparation and support, an affordable tuition and a picturesque campus in Frederick, Maryland — a charming college town with access to plenty of research and internship opportunities, both locally and in nearby Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Visiting Hood and spending time on the campus is the best way to get a feel for what campus life is like, and for students to determine if they want to complete their studies here.

Interested students can schedule a personal visit to discuss their educational plans or ask questions. Please feel free to call or email the staff who would love to talk more about what Hood College has to offer transfer students.
