Holiday Tips and Challenges
The Healthy "U" Committee wants everyone to have fun this Holiday season while maintaining a healthy focus. Let's start a healthy tradition for the holidays that rolls right into the New Year!
Have Fun, Stay Focused!
Here are some simple tips for having fun and staying on track in the midst of high calorie, low nutrition holiday meals and treats!
Family and friends are a priority! Holiday gatherings should be more about personal connections than decorations and menus.
Optimize every opportunity for exercise! Try to maintain your regular exercise routine and look for chances to increase your activity level during holiday gatherings and events to burn off extra calories consumed.
Choose water for proper hydration. Minimize consumption of alchohol and high calorie drinks with little nutritional value.
Understand the temptations of holiday goodies! Enjoy your favorite foods in moderation.
Stress reduction strategies can be very important! Be thankful and look for opportunities to help those in need.
Naughty and Nice Challenge
Let's develop our plan for maintaining healthy lifestyles during the holiday season. Challenge yourself to have 3-5 extra minutes of vigorous exercise for each goodie that you consume.
