Visit Campus

We think visiting campus should be easy! That's why we have many different visit options throughout the year to enable you to experience Hood College. Whether it's your first visit or your fifth, we'll make sure you have the opportunity to learn exactly what makes Hood so special.

Saturday Visits

The office of admission offers group presentations and student-led campus tours from 10 a.m. until noon on the following Saturday mornings.  The below dates are for students interested in attending Hood College as freshman. Register online: 

Saturday Visits for Transfer Students

The office of admission also offers group presentations and student-led campus tours for students interested in transferring to Hood College on select dates.  These visits are from 10 a.m. until noon on the following Saturday mornings. Register online:

College Goal Saturday:  FAFSA Workshop at Hood College

Register online for our College Goal Saturday on Feb. 13 anytime between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.  Our Financial Aid experts have partnered up with College Goal Maryland Inc. to provide free, on-site professional assistance with filling out the FAFSA.  Come learn more about the financial aid resources that are available, and get information regarding state-wide student services, admission requirements and more.

Weekday Visits

Register online for a weekday campus visit, available Monday through Friday during either the morning or the afternoon. During the visit, students will interview with an admission counselor and take a student-led campus tour. Please register one week in advance. 

"Blazer for a Day" Visits

Register online for an extended visit option that shows you what it is really like to be a Hood student for a day.  These visits include sitting in on a class, taking a tour, meeting with an admission counselor, and eating lunch in the dining hall.

Spring Break Daily Visit Opportunities

Register online for a daily visit during the spring break dates for Maryland counties.  We will be offering extended daily visit options from March 21 through April 4.  In addition to our regular campus visit time slots, we will also be offering arrival times at 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.  These visits will include an admission interview and student-led campus tour.  

Scholars Day

Register online to learn more about the enriching academic experiences available to our students.  During your time on campus you will meet with the co-chairs as well as student members of our Honors Program, attend an Honors class, eat lunch with current students and faculty, and of course meet with our admission counselor and take a tour of campus. 

Spring Open House

Register online for our Spring Open House on Saturday, April 30. Current students, faculty and staff members will be on hand to talk to you and your family about academics, life on campus, the financial aid process and anything else that you want to know more about. Campus tours will be offered.

To schedule an interview, a campus visit or both, please call Hood's admission office at 301-696-3400 or 800-922-1599, or email at Admission staff are located in Admission House and are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on select weekends.  The address is 410 Martha Church Dr., Frederick, MD 21701.

Important Information for Admission Visitors: A campus improvement project requires our Admission House visitors to access our office and its reserved parking by utilizing an alternate campus entrance. Instead of turning onto Hood College's campus using the main entrance (Hood Dr.), we ask that you use Martha Church Dr. which is the entrance just after Hood Dr. (when traveling east toward downtown Frederick). The Admission House is the second building on your right, and parking can be accessed by taking your first right. Guests should park in the designated spots behind the Admission House and enter through the rear building entrance.  Please note that the Admission House and convenient parking is not accessible if you enter campus using Hood Dr.

Inclement weather procedure:

If there is a forecast for snow in the Frederick area, please call the office at 301-696-3400 to make sure that there has not been a delay or closure, or call switchboard at 301-663-3131 and dial 9 for the inclement weather hotline, which is updated daily.
