Biography

Dr. Elizabeth Kiester specializes in Gender and Family Studies particularly within labor market organizations and globally with regard to immigration. She teaches a wide spectrum of classes including Principles of Sociology, Social Problems, Social Statistics, Sociology of Gender, and Race and Ethnicity. Her current research includes the impact of COVID-19, status, detention, and deportation on immigrant communities as well as the impact of climate change on coastal communities in Bangladesh. She received her PhD in Sociology from Utah State University (Logan, UT) in 2014 and her BA in Political Science and Sociology from Carroll College (Helena, MT) in 2001. She enjoys spending time outside with her husband and daughter and their two dogs: Jedi and Thorin.
