Biography
Joyce taught for Montgomery County Public School for 26 years, teaching elementary, middle and high school as well as workshops for adults. She was Director of the Global Ecology Magnet Program at Poolesville High School. Joyce was a member of Montgomery County’s Clean Energy Work Group on Policy and Regulation, served as a board member and Climate Liaison for Montgomery Countryside Alliance, was a member of the Climate Justice Wing of the Maryland Legislative Coalition and completed Maryland Climate Leadership training given by the Association of Climate Change Officers. She is a founding member of Sustainable Barnesville, a board member of the Piedmont Environmental Educational Foundation and a Maryland Master Naturalist. Joyce has been the coordinator between Hood and Mobilize Frederick to involve Hood students and local high school students in the Climate Summit. This coming Fall, she will be an Adjunct Instructor for the Coastal Studies Practicum course.
