Biography
Lisa Dodson, soprano, is an accomplished vocalist and actress, having performed opera, oratorio, and art song with equal success. She has sung with Opera Vivente, Maryland Lyric Opera, OperaDelaware, Maryland Concert Opera, Mozart and Friends Opera Company, and Little Patuxent Opera Institute. Her roles include Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Drusilla in The Coronation of Poppea, Laurie in The Tender Land, Despina in Così fan tutte, and Calisto in La Calisto, as well as roles in Candide, Susanna, and The Little Chimney Sweep.
A sought-after soloist, Dodson has been featured with the Westminster Symphonic Choir, the West Village Chorale, the Greater South Jersey Chorus, the Frederick Chorale, the Hood College Choir, and the Howard County Singers, and in numerous regional recitals. Dodson attended Towson State University, where she was a student of Ruth Drucker, and received her B.A. in Voice Performance. She continued her graduate education at Westminster Choir College, where she studied voice performance and pedagogy with Laura Brooks-Rice and earned her Master of Music.
Additionally, Dodson has studied abroad at l'Académie Internationale d'été de Nice under the tutelage of Dalton Baldwin. Ms. Dodson is an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and teaches voice at Hood College, at the University of Maryland - Baltimore County, and for her private studio.
