Assistant Professor of Economics
Biography
I grew up in Merritt Island, Florida, the home of Kennedy Space Center. This fostered my love of space exploration, science, and academic inquiry at large. In particular, NASA's mission of promoting human flourishing through technological advancement in space fostered my love of promoting human flourishing through sound economics.
I received my B.S. In Economics from Florida Southern College, a small liberal arts college in Lakeland, Florida. I loved the close-knit environment of FSC and the connections I got to make with both my classmates and my professors. I knew from then on that a liberal arts education is the pinnacle of a collegiate education. Students deserve to have professors who care about their success like mine did when I was in my undergraduate program, and I aspire to bring that energy here to Hood College. To that end, I earned my M.A. in Economics from Troy University in 2019 and my Ph.D. in economics from Middle Tennessee State University in 2024. If you're a future student of mine, I look forward to teaching you!
I love teaching both macroeconomics and microeconomics, as they are both critically important to a balanced economics curriculum. I regularly teach Intermediate Microeconomics here at Hood College, as well as History of Economic Thought, Public Economics, as well as different courses in applied microeconomics. If you're interested in these topics, you are welcome to my classes! I'll do my best to make your education in economics here at Hood College a fantastic experience!"
