Biography
Dr. Thomas-Lalmansingh, a certified medical-surgical nurse has 35-years of nursing practice working in a variety of leadership and clinical nursing practice assignments in medical surgical, oncology, orthopedics; both traditional and military operational medicine and clinical research.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and immediately afterwards commissioned in the United States Navy serving honorably for 20 years as a Nurse Corps Officer. During her tenure in the Navy, she earned a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from The Catholic University of America. In 2006 she retired from the Navy and worked as an Adjunct Clinical Nursing Instructor at The Catholic University of America and Howard University.
In 2007, she started her tenure as a clinical research nurse at the National Institutes of Health where she served as a Senior Clinical Research Nurse Educator. In May 2018, she earned her Ph.D. from the University of Phoenix and transitioned to academia, accepting a position as Assistant Professor of Nursing at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. Dr. Thomas-Lalmansingh is a wife and proud mother of 3 sons.
She enjoys teaching, traveling, entertaining, gardening, and philanthropic work.
