The Hood College Graduate School awarded the Outstanding Adjunct Teaching Award to Benjamin Vivari who has been an adjunct faculty member in the George B. Delaplaine Jr. School of Business since 2014.

Hood College's Adjunct Teaching Award is particularly competitive each year, as nearly all of Hood adjuncts are leaders in their respective industries with more than full-time careers outside of Hood College, which is why we seek them out to bring that real-world expertise to our students in the classroom.

Professor Vivari has been a remarkable member of the Department and has done tremendous work advancing the aim of the School of Business to be a valued member in the Frederick community. He has brought projects into the classroom from area businesses, non-profits, and community services. At the same time, Professor Vivari has encouraged his students to step out of the classroom and into the lives of others. The results speak for themselves - the Frederick News Post recently featured one of his class projects with the Tenth Ward Distilling Company.  Now, the 10th Ward, already a successful, small business, was interested in expansion, and it turned to Professor Vivari and his graduate class, “Production and Operations Management”, for an expansion plan with detailed projections.

Congratulations to Professor Vivari for his award - we are proud to have him on the Hood College faculty!
